Privacy Torts
Two branches. (1) Privacy torts: defamation, false light, intrusion upon seclusion, NCII/revenge porn, appropriation of likeness, and tortious interference (social media, streaming, content creators). (2) Privacy technology and surveillance: biometric and facial-recognition capture (BIPA), wiretap/eavesdropping and website session-replay (federal Wiretap Act, CIPA), video-privacy and tracking-pixel claims (VPPA), recording devices and smart glasses, and deepfakes/voice cloning.
